We run a General Clinic at both Wakefield Street Adelaide and Brady Street Elizabeth Downs service sites. Clients are generally seen by Clinical Health Worker or Registered Nurse prior to seeing the Doctor to assure your needs are seen to appropriately, however clients can request to see a GP only.

Clients may also make an appointment to see an Aboriginal Health Worker or Registered Nurse if they choose, and the Registered Nurse is available to support client pathways to the General Practitioners and to other services as needed. Our consulting hours are:

Wakefield Street Clinic Brady Street Clinic

The Wakefield Street General Clinic is for immediate health needs, and unplanned illness assessment and management. We can also fill any required government forms, can give you the results of tests and address other needs that have not been planned for. The team also provides well persons health checks for both adults and children, immunisations and referrals to specialists’ clinics as needed.

See the Maternal Child and Family Health section for further details on these services accessible through the General Clinic.

Regular clients with a chronic condition are generally referred to the Chronic Conditions Management Team for support, ongoing follow up and access to visiting specialists and allied health professionals connected to the Chronic Conditions Management Team.

Our Brady Street clinic works slightly differently as we do not have a Chronic Conditions Management Team with dedicated care coordination roles. Clients’ needs are met by the available Health Team, including immediate health needs, forms, test results, well persons health checks for both adults and children and immunisations.

The Health Team also provides services to assist clients to manage their chronic condition, antenatal and postnatal care, and women’s, children’s and men’s health needs. We provide referrals to specialists’ clinics, and any other health related needs clients may have. We have a onsite psychiatrist and paediatric registrar clinics as well as for a visiting physiotherapist, diabetic educator and psychologist.

Both clinics have an appointment system where you can make an appointment in advance. If you believe you need to see someone urgently please phone Medical Reception, or call in to see if there is an available appointment on the day.

We are a Medicare Bulk Billing provider so our services are provided free to all clients.
