Tackling Indigenous Smoking

Nunkuwarrin Yunti recognises that exposure to tobacco smoke is a health risk and recognises the negative impact smoking has on the health of the Aboriginal community.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things a person who smokes can do to improve their health and live longer.

Community & School Based Educational Workshops

The Tackling Indigenous Smoking team delivers educational and awareness-based health promotion sessions focused on smoking and its impacts.

The Tackling Indigenous Smoking team run Community & School Based Educational Workshops for people to learn about the harms of smoking, methods for dealing with smoking, craving and triggers, and discuss helpful hints for quitting.

  • Workshops run for 1-2 hours
  • Can be tailored to suit the needs of schools, individuals, groups or workplaces
  • Delivered in a location that is convenient for you

These interactive sessions support population health goals by increasing knowledge about the harms of smoking, exploring strategies to manage cravings and triggers, and providing practical tools to support individuals in making informed choices about their health.
