The Women Children and Family Health Unit aims to support safe nurturing environments for pregnant women, infants and children, increase uptake and utilisation of services with an emphasis on early intervention and prevention, provide streamlined coordinated care and positive experiences for clients to encourage continued engagement with services.
Nunkuwarrin Yunti has an opportunity for an Aboriginal Health Worker / Practitioner to join their Strong Mums Solid Kids (SMSK) program, on a full-time basis and based in Adelaide CBD and outreach throughout metropolitan Adelaide.
Working within the SMSK team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the needs of clients and their families through engagement and the delivery of services in child and maternal health and wellbeing. In addition your role will be to encourage clients to participate in preventative health care by facilitating access to the program’s services and broader services as required. This will be achieved by:
- Delivering information and education to the wider Aboriginal community through health promotion and community engagement activities
- Promoting the benefits of healthy growth and development, and general preventative health care
- Providing clinical care including regular health screening and assessments, immunisations, and parenting support and
- Supporting clients to access referral services and community support, including child care and early learning services.
Please note: This is an identified Aboriginal position; exemption is claimed under Section 8 (1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975.
It is a requirement of the role that successful candidates have a current driver’s license and National Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to employment
With a starting salary range between $62,505.65 – $70,467.96 dependent on qualifications and experience, plus super, you also will have access to salary sacrificing options which allow you to significantly increase your take home pay.
